I think it is best to begin narrowing down your choices by asking more questions, which will tend to focus your thoughts and narrow the selection.

• Do I want to live in a golf course community?
• Do I want an adult community or just a maintenance free community?
• Is the age in place option important to me?
• Do I want my living space on one level?
• Do I want a 55+ community with a clubhouse, activities and amenities, companionship?
• Are there special services I will require?
• Is the local convenient to my healthcare providers?
• Do I have friends or family members that I want to be close to?
• Maintenance fees, how much and what do they cover?
• Ownership type, deed or life time estate?
• View property?
• What can I afford?
• Resale value?
• How long to I plan to live there?
• What kind of financing is available?
