Golf Course Communities

Living on or near your favorite golf course can be great.  Just remember if you live on the fairway, you will have some limitations to your privacy and there is the risk of the occassional stray golf ball.  Golf courses offer more than golf, many allow you to walk on their paths and they are home to many birds especially water foul.

Canyon Lakes Golf Course:

Located in SW Kennewick just off of HWY 395.  The club house has just recently been remodeled and now has “The Champion Room” that hosts not only golf events, but Super Bowl, New Year’s Eve Parties, Wine Taster’s dinners.  The snack bar has terrific hamburgers and morning breakfasts.

The golf course is well-maintained and challenging. There is a driving range, practice putting green, and real turf putting course, (just an added feature for the kids) The pro shop has a nice variety of golfing attire and equipment.  The owner is friendly and the staff is pleasant and courteious. Three of my featured condo or adult community located on this course.

Communites on or in close proximity to this golf course are;

Ridgeline located above the 11th fairway at Canyon Lakes

Canyon Lakes Condos located adjacent to the Canyon Lakes Club house.

Village at Canyon Lakes located just East of the Canyon Lakes golf course.

Sun Willows:

Popular community course.  Straight forward play.  I play this from time-to-time and always find it enjoyable.  Located near the Pasco Airport and freeway access.

Columbia Point:

Newer golf course, redone a few years ago.  Nice Club House.  Located at Columbia Point, which is a “hot” spot in our area, as it is in close proximity to the Columbia River Walk, (a walking/jogging trail, along the Columbia River)  Anthony’s Restaurant, Richland Yacht Club, hotels, and condo communities are within walking distance.  Close proximity to my featured condos, “Riverwalk”. Columbia Point is a fun Public Course with water, sand, and rolling hills. Easily played in 4 hrs.

RiverWalk is located near the North end of the golf course and about a half mile from the clubhouse.

Horn Rapids:

Located in Richland.  This course has always been a challenge for me as it is a target course.  So, if you hit it short, you may end up in the desert. Very nice community with various home styles, adult community, and community pool.  The pro shop is well stocked and the staff is friendly.  The course is well-maintained and in the heat of summer…I would highly suggest using a cart.

Tri-City Country Club:

Delightful semi-private older course in central Kennewick. Beautiful course in excellent condition with  shade trees, friendly squirrels, and water hazards.  Membership required for restuarant, lounge and pool, but public is always welcome on the course.  Just off 395 and Kennewick Ave.

There are no communities associated with the Tri-City Country Club.  Occassionally a home above the course or adjacent to the course to the East becomes available.

Meadow Springs County Club:

Must be invited to play here.  Beautiful challenging private course.  Never refuse an invitation or opportunity to play in charity tournaments here. Pro Am is played here.

There are no new condominiums projects adjacent to Meadow Springs, but there are numerous homes and condos located adjacent or on the Meadow Springs Country Club, that may become available as a resale.  These are generally older projects.
