Village at Canyon Lakes

THE VILLAGE AT CANYON LAKES- HOME OWNERSHIP WITHOUT THE WORK! The Village at Canyon Lakes is a 48 acre planned retirement community. It’s designed for active adult and carefree living—it’s the kind of community that ensures peace-of-mind and provides residents with plenty of activities and a lock-and-go and maintenance free home ownership.

A Bit of History… Shirley Painter, a long time Tri-Cities resident, had friends who wanted more from their retirement, but services were limited in Southeastern Washington State, so they were forced to move away. As one who always appreciated the lifestyle and climate of the Tri-Cities, Shirley wanted her friends to be able to stay and enjoy it as well. So, Shirley dedicated her energy and resources to just that-and with influential friends, developed the Ben Franklin Village Association. The Ben Franklin Village Association was then formed with selected people from Richland, Kennewick and Pasco to serve on the Board. Their goal was to facilitate the development of a retirement community on a beautiful campus. A group of Tri-City area residents, age 50 to 85 were asked to give their impressions of what features are important in a home including amenities and surroundings. They were interested in having choices, safety and security, quality design features and a variety of care options on site which would allow them to remain among friends. Shirley Painter has recently passed on, but she will always be remembered and appreciated for her dream that became a reality “The Village At Canyon Lakes”.
